Firefly

earth-blue stone, raindrop blown, down through space and took my place,
on a stone-cold day, cloud breaks clay,
all those iron-clad, shotgun minds were, so cold and bound by time,
afraid to go outside on a summer’s night…
+++ ball and chain, it’s still the same, will some things never change?
+++ ‘cause nothing grows in wintertime, unless it find some spark to hide behind,
+++++ firefly, a spark to hide behind,
+++++ firefly, we could step out in the summer’s night,
+++++ firefly, firefly…

a red sunset, my shirt, skin wet, I fell from grace till I saw that face,
and 1000 lights were dancing on the grass
you feel the tug of the lightning bug, and it pulls you back to another place,
somewhere you’ve been before, but far away…
+++ after laughter, calling, calling, after pain a quiet sound,
+++ we could cry together, or cry alone,
+++ see the rain has fallen down,
+++ disappeared beneath the ground, now the lights are all around,
+++++ firefly, a spark to hide behind,
+++++ firefly, we could step out in the summer’s night,
+++++ firefly, firefly…

ball and chain may still remain, some things never change…
‘cause nothing grows in wintertime,
unless it find some spark to hide behind,
unless it find some spark to hide behind,
unless it find some spark to hide behind,
we’ve gotta find a spark to hide behind…
