just in case

I don’t know you, but we say hello,
when you leave I don’t know where you go,
but you make me want to tidy up this room,
as if you might stop by any time soon..
and I don’t know you, but I like your eyes,
sad and lovely as a cloudy sky,
cloudy skies are common in this town,
I wonder if that’s why you’re still around?..but just in case we like to make the same mistakes,
it would be a waste to wonder, why wonder anyway?..
you could be cutting or kind, you may feel desperate or fine,
you might have a lot on your mind,
while there’s you on mine..there may be someone waiting by your door,
I might have seen you with them once before,
they may love you well and know you best,
but then again, that’s anybody’s guess..
(alt: or that could’ve been your cousin from out West..)so just in case we like to make the same mistakes,
it would be a waste to wonder, why wonder anyway?
yeah, just in case we like to make the same mistakes,
it’s not my place to wonder, I wonder every day…

I like this one a lot. Do you have a recording you can post so that I can play it? :-)
Cool! Glad you do—it’s a little “under the radar.” I’ll work on it some more, though, so I can play it the next time you’re out (and, yes, I should get an MP3 up, too.)
Thanks, Sherrie!
