Someday or Never

“Someday or Never” took so long, I joked that it was not just the album title, but also the release date! Fortunately, I finally had copies in November of 2006, and did the official CD release party in January of 2007. Basic tracks were recorded at my house, with the rock-solid Dave Throckmorton on drums, and Randall Venturini on bass, in January of 2004, (using a PC-based SONAR system). Peter and I then worked on this at my house (while he went back to school to become an ultrasound tech), and did most of the mixing in May & June of 2005, on a DA-7 at my house, using a combination of analog and digital gear. Peter later remixed “Till the Colors” in January of 2006, and the final mix of “Immortal” was done by Mitch Easter in March of 2006, down in North Carolina. Mastering was, once again, Scott Hull in NYC.
The cool illustrations were done by Pittsburgh’s own (& finest) CD Mike Budai, who is the man. He also designed the ringer t-shirt. Heather Mull (also of the Pittsburgh City Paper) took the fine photographs.
I’m excited to say that, in the year since the release party, I’ve sold almost 900 copies of “Someday or Never.” I was originally planning to have “School Together” be the first track, but wimped out and was persuaded to lead with a rocker (“One Excuse”), which also a good idea. “School Together” and “Immortal” are my favorite tracks, I think. WYEP (91.3fm) initially played “One Excuse” for a bit, and later also “Immortal.”
