Best Sunday Heart
“Best Sunday Heart” was recorded first with Doug Krehbiel, at his studio out in Newton, KS, to 8-track ADAT digital tape. Further recording was done by the rather amazing Peter Beckerman, who did a lot to make this record sound more professional. We actually flew the original drummer out from Kansas, to retrack almost all the drum parts. My plan for years has been to re-release this CD, after I re-sing it (‘cause I sing better these days?) The drummer, Steve Unruh, also played violin on “Unwind.” I wrote the horn chart for “Monkey in the Middle,” which we recorded 3 separate times (once in KS, twice in Pittsburgh), before finally getting it right!
